Aside from the options your doctor might suggest, you may also want to try complementary treatments to help manage the condition.</p>
<p><strong>Hypnosis</strong></p>
<p>Hypnosis is often used as an alternative treatment to help the sufferer become less aware of the ringing noise. Generally, the noise itself isn’t the main reason why people suffer – it’s the negative perception and reaction to this sound that causes problems. When you use hypnosis, it will help teach your brain that the sound doesn’t matter, so it’ll eventually stop reacting to it.</p>
<p><strong>Ginkgo Biloba</strong></p>
<p>This is an herbal supplement available in many natural health stores. A number of studies have been carried out that look into the effect this herb can have on tinnitus, which have produced mixed results. It was concluded that the supplement didn’t help most people to clear tinnitus, but it may benefit you if you try it. As an added bonus you might also feel some enhanced brain power!</p>
<p><strong>Acupuncture</strong></p>
<p>This treatment is used for a number of conditions, including as a way to clear tinnitus. Studies done into the effect of acupuncture showed that there were some improvements for nearly half of all patients who took the treatment, however, the improvements did not generally last. Other studies failed to show an improvement in the condition.</p>
<p><strong>Precautions</strong></p>
<p>Many people try out complementary therapies assuming that they will be safe. But it’s important to realize that even natural supplements can have unwanted side effects on the body. Though most therapies are safe, it’s important to speak to medical professionals before going ahead. For example, side effects of the ginkgo biloba supplement can include headaches or upset stomachs.</p>
<p>On top of this, it’s also important to rule out any underlying conditions before starting any course of treatment. If your tinnitus has a treatable reason behind it, it’s important that you know what it is and that it’s treated accordingly.</p>
<p>Don’t get discouraged if these complementary <a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/Curetinnitus" target="_blank">treatments for tinnitus</a> fail to clear up the condition. The nature of the condition means that it’s different for everyone: what worked for someone you know isn’t necessarily going to work for you. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Are you suffering from dull, damaged, lifeless hair?  It can be extremely frustrating.  I’m sure you have tried different shampoos, conditioners, even expensive salon treatments and nothing has worked.  If every day is a bad hair day here are some tips that might just change that problem for you.</p>
<p>There are two critical things you must do to give yourself shiny, healthy hair.</p>
<ul>
<li>You will need to avoid products containing toxic chemicals such as petrochemicals, alcohol, artificial fragrances as they suffocate the scalp and damage your hair even more and as a result you will experience hair loss or at least thinning hair.</li>
<li>You need to nourish your hair on a cellular level.</li>
</ul>
<p>First, take a look at the <strong>hair products</strong> you use every day.  Have you ever read the label and if you have are you aware what those ingredients mean?  Are there lots of hard to pronounce ingredients on the label?  Most of these ingredients are synthetics and chemicals with the biggest offenders being Sodium Lauryl or Sodium Sulfate.</p>
<p>These ingredients are actually just cheap detergent that <a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/hairloss_prevention.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1173" title="hairloss_prevention" src="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/hairloss_prevention-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="215" height="215" /></a>was originally produced to clean garage floors and degrease engines!  The bad news is that it is also absorbed through your skin and gets into your bloodstream.  The ironic thing is that they are classified as skin irritants and they have been proven to affect the nervous system and as well they are hormone disruptors! And the really bad news is that they alter the skin structure which allows for other chemicals to penetrate your skin and get into your bloodstream.  The result, over time, these chemicals lead to more toxic load in the body stealing your <strong>health and energy</strong>.  Remember your skin is your largest organ.  One thing to remember if you wouldn’t eat it, why would you put in on your skin?</p>
<p>If you think that you can’t absorb these chemicals through your skin, try this test.  Chop up some garlic very fine, stand on it in your bare feet and see if you can taste the garlic in your mouth.  It should only take a few minutes for you to taste the garlic!</p>
<p>So why not start today to read the labels on your hair care products and look for ones that are natural and won’t harm your health and in the long run you will end up with a beautiful head of healthy hair!</p>
<p>Now, since your hair is made up of 97% protein, it is important that you eat protein to give you plenty of blood, oxygen and nutrients.  There are also some key nutrients you should consider to help improve your hair.</p>
<p><strong>Vitamin C</strong><br />
Make sure it is Calcium Ascorbate with citrus bioflavanoids and not ascorbic acid which is a cheap type of Vitamin C.  You will need to take 1,000 mg a day.  This will help improve your hair and will even help your skin.</p>
<p><strong>Vitamin B</strong><br />
We all have busy and stressful lifestyles and the B vitamins can help.  Taking Vitamin B will not only improve your hair, but will help with memory loss and may even prevent Alzheimers.</p>
<p><strong>Vitamin A and E</strong><br />
These two vitamins are also important for hair health.  You should take a minimum of 10,000 IU a day of a natural Vitamin A.  As well, Vitmin E from d-alpha-tocopherol is another important vitamin.  Take at least 800 IU a day.  Not only will your hair improve but so will your skin and nails.</p>
<p><strong>Minerals</strong><br />
Did you know that your vitamins will work better if you include minerals?  They help transport the vitamins into your cells. One of the more important minerals to include is zinc.</p>
<p><strong>Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids</strong><br />
You need these essential oils otherwise your hair will be dry and dull.  Omega-3 also helps prevent depression and heart disease.</p>
<p><strong>MSM</strong><br />
This versatile nutrient is important not only for hair health but will help ease inflamed joints and give you a more youthful skin tone.  Take 200 mg a day for hair health.</p>
<p>Here a couple of other tips to keep in mind:</p>

<li>Read your hair care product labels and buy all natural ones</li>
<li>Get the best nutrition you can for your overall health</li>
<li>Blow dry your hair when it’s partially dry to help protect the hair</li>
<li>Use a styling brush that has a ceramic rather than metal base</li>
<li>Use a water purifier on your shower head to reduce chemicals</li>
</ul>
<p>We all live in a stressful and chemical filled world and as a result our health can suffer.  Changing the way we eat to a more natural diet, getting plenty of fresh water, exercising and making sure our hair care products are natural and chemical free will go a long way to improving our health.  Following these tips you should see a marked different in a little over a month.</p>

<p>In order to help the hair follicle become healthier you should first get rid of any of the toxic hair shampoos and conditioners you might be using.  Most of these products contain a chemical called sodium laurel sulfate, which is a kerosene based chemical.  Another chemical found in most hair care products is propylene blycol, a base used in antifreeze.  These two chemicals can actually impair the hair’s ability to grow and as a result your hair will either become thinner or it will fall out.  Start using all-natural hair care products taking care to stay away from any fake “organic” products.  Make sure you read the labels and do some research to find out what is actually in the shampoo or conditioner before you make a purchase.</p>
<p>In addition to eating a more natural, organic diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, drinking lots of water to flush toxins out of the body is a good thing to do for your hair.  While your hair is recovering you might want to get a short, trendy hair cut that will look more natural.  Getting a short pixie cut if you are a woman will give you a great look.  Men, shaving off most of your hair is a perfectly natural solution and is a far better option that the “comb over” or other devices to disguise thinning hair.</p>
<p>Also, stay away from styling products that contain toxic ingredients that also might block pores.  Hair dyes too are very toxic.  There are many new natural products on the market for coloring hair including henna or lemon juice if you are a blond.  Just make sure you read the labels as there are some hennas that contain metallic compounds.</p>

Changing your lifestyle is critical if you’ve been diagnosed with high blood pressure. If that doesn’t work, your health care provider can prescribe medication to keep it under control.</p>
<p>Among the lifestyle changes that you should make are changing to an appropriate diet plan and getting a moderate amount of exercise each day. Here are some specific lifestyle changes that you can make immediately to lower your blood pressure:</p>
<p><strong>Reduce Salt and Sodium</strong> – Sodium is a major factor that could significantly raise your blood pressure, and it’s virtually hidden in many of the foods we eat today, such as soups and frozen dinners. Be sure to read the labels of canned or frozen products you purchase and limit your sodium intake to 1500 mg per day.</p>

<p>Here is a list of common foods you might want to start eating more regularly.</p>
<p><strong>Peanut Butter.</strong> Yes, peanut butter. The food we have loved since we were kids contains healthy fats and is associated with decreasing total cholesterol and lowering LDL and triglyceride levels. And the good news, it satisfies which means you don’t have to eat the whole jar!</p>
<p><strong>Cabbage.</strong> Did you know that Europeans and Asians eat more cabbage that we do in North America? Cabbage is low in calories and high in nutrition. It even contains some cancer fighting enzymes.</p>
<p><strong>Quinoa.</strong> This tiny grain which isn’t a grain, is actually related to spinach, beets and Swiss chard. It is full of good nutritional value with protein, minerals, vitamins and fiber.</p>
<p><strong>Spelt.</strong> This is a grain. If you are gluten intolerant this grain is for you. Spelt bread and cookies can be found in most bakeries.</p>
<p><strong>Walnuts.</strong> This is the king of the nut family. It has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. Did you know that eating walnuts after a meal containing bad fat will reduce the damaging effects of the meal?</p>

<p><strong>Mushrooms.</strong> Speaking of phytonutrients, mushrooms are loaded with antioxidants and are thought to boost the immune system, help ward off some cancers and are high in potassium.</p>
<p><strong>Tea.</strong> This beverage, which has been around for centuries, is healthier than coffee because it doesn’t contain as much caffeine. Tea is high in antioxidants, more so than coffee. Here’s a little bit of information: a study found that elderly women who drank tea had 2.8 percent more bone mineral density at the hip than non-tea drinkers.</p>
<p><strong>Cinnamon.</strong> Considered little more than a spice, cinnamon has been long prized and offers a host of benefits. People with type 2 diabetes who consumed one gram a day for six weeks, significantly reduced their blood sugar, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol.</p>
<p><strong>Natto.</strong> Never heard of it, right? Natto is fermented soybeans and is enjoyed in Japan. Nearly all soybeans offered in North American are non-fermented, but there are many healthy benefits to fermented soybeans including having antibiotic properties. Our water is not only polluted too but there is chlorine and other chemicals in the water we drink. We also eat too many processed foods which mean we are ingesting foods with little oxygen. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cancer rates in general are on a decline, but it’s still the number one killer in America. Nearly 1.5 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States in 2009. In all, more than 1,500 people die from cancer each day, accounting for nearly one out of every four U.S. deaths.</p>
<p>Fortunately, the realization that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) was causing breast cancer, and the subsequent decrease in use of artificial hormones, has led to a 37 percent reduction in death rates among women.</p>
<p>That’s impressive, and a testament to just how devastating an incorrect pharmaceutical intervention can be. Just imagine what might happen to mortality rates if we stopped swallowing a number of dangerous drugs that are currently taken by millions of people, day in and day out!</p>
<p><strong>How Drug Companies Fooled Me and Most Doctors</strong></p>
<p>As little as ten years ago, conventional medicine touted HRT as THE answer to women’s post-menopausal health.</p>
<p>Interestingly, shortly after I completed my residency training program in 1985, I was actually a paid lecturer for the drug company that sold Premarin, the horse-based estrogen that was sold to women in menopause.</p>
<p>I promoted it because after carefully reviewing the “scientific” literature for over a year, it certainly seemed that it had far more benefits than downsides. However, this was my introduction in the mind-bending manipulation that the drug companies had been using for many decades.</p>
<p>They had meticulously bought off the leading physicians in this area of research with huge speaking engagements and grants, and were able to facilitate their articles being published in the most respected medical journals.</p>
<p>By using this strategy, they were able to completely pervert the scientific process and as a result, convince nearly the entire medical community, generating billions of dollars in profits from the sale of these unnatural hormones for humans.</p>
<p>It took me several years to recognize how these companies manipulated the system but eventually I learned the truth and stopped prescribing and recommending HRT as conventionally recommended.</p>
<p>In fact the leading proponent of using estrogen in the 1960’s, Dr. Robert A. Wilson, established a sham research foundation and wrote his seminal book, “Feminine Forever”, all with secret pharmaceutical company funds. His research institute and treatment recommendations were later found to be fraudulent, but by the time this was discovered the theory of using estrogen had been well established and carried on with it’s own momentum even in the face of research to the contrary. Every medical doctor in the United States fell into this trap of misinformation and mistruth and these dangerous prescribing practices continued for almost forty years.</p>
<p><strong>The Dangers of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/mercola.bmp"><img src="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/mercola.bmp" alt="mercola" title="mercola" class="alignright size-full wp-image-979" /></a>Even powerful multi-national, billion-dollar drug firms can’t squash the truth forever. Eventually the truth came out in the form of a large government-funded study known as the Women&#8217;s Health Initiative, which exposed the real dangers of HRT. The hormone trials were stopped early when researchers discovered an increased risk of breast cancer and other side effects that greatly outweighed the benefits of the therapy.</p>
<p>Just ONE YEAR after millions of women quit taking HRT, incidents of breast cancer fell by seven percent!</p>
<p>It is hard to describe how frustrating it was to argue against arrogant and ignorant physicians back then, who claimed that this form of treatment was actually helping women.</p>
<p>Other studies looking at the long-term usage of synthetic estrogen have revealed many negative side effects, including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Heart attacks</li>
<li>Strokes</li>
<li>Blood clots</li>
<li>High blood pressure</li>
<li>Vaginal bleeding</li>
</ul>
<p>The following hormone prescriptions now carry black box warnings:</p>
<p><strong>Premarin</strong>. Premarin is an estrogen extracted from a pregnant mare’s urine and is associated with an increased risk of heart disease.</p>
<p><strong>Estrogen Therapy</strong>. Estrogen, which is extracted from Premarin, was effective in combating some menopausal symptoms but proved to have serious, negative side effects, such as the increased risk of breast cancer and an increase in insulin levels.</p>
<p><strong>Provera</strong>. This drug contains a synthetic form of progesterone called PROGESTIN, which has well-documented, negative side effects such as blood clotting. Progestin is probably even more dangerous than Premarin and is the same class of hormones that are in all birth control pills.</p>
<p>There’s no question that nearly all medicinal estrogen is unhealthy and can cause more problems than they prevent. Studies have found that HRT increases your breast cancer risk by at least one percent per year, and HRT with progestin increases your risk by eight percent per year, potentially going as high as 30 percent after just four years of use.</p>
<p>HRT was at one point also thought to protect against heart disease, bone fractures, and Alzheimer’s disease. But none of those claims turned out to be true either after more diligent investigation.</p>
<p><strong>Bioidentical Hormone Replacement</strong></p>

<p>Bioidentical hormones have never been associated with the dangers of Premarin and synthetic progestins like the ones uncovered in the Women’s Health Initiative, and it is likely that they never will be, as they are natural human hormones.</p>
<p>However there are many potential dangers to using bioidentical hormones and they need to be prescribed by someone who is very knowledgeable in this area. If one simply measures female hormones and then supplements with bioidentical hormones, most likely they will NOT do better.</p>
<p>This is because the ideal way for most women to balance their hormones is to FIRST normalize their adrenal hormones with lifestyle changes like stress reduction, exercise and diet. Once that is done it becomes MUCH easier and far more likely that a successful hormone balance will be achieved.</p>
<p>One of the best ways to address adrenal hormones is through a 24-hour saliva test from a reputable lab. You need to find an experienced health care clinician that has helped many other women achieve good results. It would be wise to ask for names and numbers of other women who were treated so you can confirm for yourself that their treatment worked well.</p>

<p><strong>What Do Mammograms Have to Do With it?</strong></p>
<p>Another reason mentioned as a cause for the decline in breast cancer deaths is simply delayed diagnosis, as many women are not getting their yearly mammogram. Said Dr. Marisa Weiss, the president and founder of advocacy group Breastcancer.org,</p>
<p>&#8220;Fewer women are getting mammography and that&#8217;s why fewer women are getting diagnosed with breast cancer, so eventually that will come back and bite us in the rear end.&#8221;</p>
<p>The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends women get a mammogram every year or two after age 40.</p>
<p>I disagree with this recommendation, and don’t believe it is part of the overall reduction in the number of breast cancer cases. If anything, the reduction in mammograms may actually be another factor that is driving the breast cancer rate down.</p>
<p>The benefits of mammograms are highly controversial, while the risks are well established. A startling study published in The Lancet in 2001 concluded that previous research showing a benefit of yearly mammograms was flawed, and that widespread mammogram screening is unjustified.</p>
<p>Specifically, the Danish researchers argued that earlier studies in Europe and North America were improperly randomized and that they used a faulty definition of breast cancer survival.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the technology carries a first-time false positive rate of up to 6 percent.</p>
<p>False positives can lead to expensive repeat screenings and can sometimes result in unnecessary invasive procedures including biopsies and surgeries. Just thinking you may have breast cancer, when you really do not, focuses your mind on fear and disease, and is actually enough to trigger an illness in your body. So a false positive on a mammogram, or an unnecessary biopsy, can in and of itself damage your health.</p>
<p>Not to mention that women have unnecessarily undergone mastectomies, radiation and chemotherapy after receiving false positives on a mammogram. And as you may already know, chemotherapy comes with the potential side effect of cancer later on!</p>

<p><strong>How to Virtually Eradicate Cancer</strong></p>
<p>There is now overwhelming evidence pointing to the fact that many of the 560,000 cancer deaths expected to occur this year could have been safely prevented with one simple lifestyle change – sun exposure.</p>
<p>If health officials would simply recommend that you get some sensible sun exposure, or supplement with oral vitamin D3 if you can’t get out into the sun, there could be major advances made in the fight against cancer.</p>
<p>In fact, a standard recommendation like that could potentially cut cancer rates in half! I can’t think of ANY other intervention that could possibly come close to that.</p>
<p>One recent study also points out vitamin D’s potential in treating breast cancer; not just in preventing it. They found that calcitrol (the active form of vitamin D) can induce a tumor-suppressing protein that inhibits the growth of breast cancer cells specifically.</p>
<p>In addition to something as basic as spending time in the sun, even the American Cancer Society states that about one-third of the cancer deaths expected to occur in 2009 will be related to overweight or obesity, physical inactivity and poor nutrition.</p>
<p>The final nail in the coffin for most would be to have excessive iron levels. This is actually very common once women stop menstruating. The extra iron actually works as a powerful oxidant, increasing free radicals and raising your risk of cancer.</p>
<p>All you need to do is measure your ferritin level and if it is above 80, just donate blood, which will reduce the amount of iron that you have.</p>
<p>Just imagine: if the focus of cancer prevention and treatment shifted from the current allopathic view to one that embraced a healthy diet, physical exercise, and appropriate sun exposure, cancer would likely fade into the shadows and become a rarity – as it should be.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ever wonder what the main culprit in the obesity epidemic might be? Well look no further than that can of soda that you drink. Studies show that it is the source of the most calories consumed in the world accounting from between 11% and 19%. We all know that it is readily available and it is inexpensive to buy. Most of us probably don’t realize that it is also very addictive. The following are some reasons why you might consider giving up that can of soda and having a glass of water instead.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/soda_pic.jpg"></a><a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/soda_pic1.jpg"></a>A report in the <em>Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention </em>noted that consuming as little as two or more soft drinks a week may increase your risk of developing pancreatic cancer twice as much as those people who did not drink soda at all. The study followed more than 60,000 men in women in the Singapore Chinese Health Study for fourteen years. In that amount of time there were 140 pancreatic cancer cases.</p>
<p>Do you think that drinking the diet soda is healthier? Think again. A report done in 2005 by the <em>University of Texas Health Science Center </em>showed that there is a 41% increased risk of getting obese for every can of diet soda a person drinks in a day.</p>
<p>Concerned about ingesting BPA (bisphenol A) from your soda bottle. Although most water bottle companies stopped using bottles made with BPA the soda companies have continued to use it in their products. A study done in Canada reported that “in the vast majority” of soft drinks tests, BPA was present. “Out of 72 drinks tested, 69 were found to contain BPA at levels below what <em>Health Canada </em>says is the safe upper limit. However, studies in peer-reviewed science journals have indicated that even at very low doses, BPA can increase breast and ovarian cancer cell growth and the growth of some prostate cancer cells in animals.”</p>
<p>Unfortunately it is not just about consuming soda. The bottled-water industry which is mostly owned by the soda companies is not taking care of the planet either. They use around seventeen million barrels of oil a year and as well the aluminum industry, who make the cans, use as much electricity as the entire continent of Africa! And, the aluminum industry leaves behind toxic chemicals from the process.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/soda.bmp"></a><a href="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/soda1.bmp"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-891" title="obesity epidemic" src="http://www.healthandwellness.truebluetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/soda1.bmp" alt="soda" width="312" height="231" /></a>What else is in your soda! How about genetically modified food, high fructose corn syrup or aspartame. There are lots of scientific studies going on regarding aspartame in our diet these days. <em>The Center for Science in the Public Interest</em> noted a study by the <em>European Ramazzini Foundation </em>in Italy found that rats who consume aspartame in large quantities are more likely to develop cancer.</p>
<p>Another study, this time done at the <em>Boston University School of Medicine </em>found that drinking diet soda increased the risk factors for both heart disease and diabetes. The study found that adults who drink one or more sodas a day had about a 50% higher risk of excessive fat around the waist, low levels of “good” cholesterol, high blood pressure and symptoms that can lead to heart disease and/or diabetes.</p>
<p>And if you are in to eating a natural diet, then soda is the last food you should be consuming. There isn’t anything in soda that is natural other than caffeine. Soda is made from altered water (it is injected with carbon dioxide gas), artificial flavors, artificial colour, phosphoric acid and modified corn products. There isn’t any nutritional value in drinking soda. Unfortunately, it is not the Real Thing!</p>
