Smoking is a habit that is very hard to kick. It doesn’t matter that you have managed to abstain from smoking for a period of time, if you give into the impulse for a cigarette, you can be right back in the addiction. It only takes one!

Is there an easy way to quit smoking for good? Like many other addictions, quitting smoking is never permanent as you are always one cigarette away from going back to the habit. If you give into the impulse for a cigarette you will have to start all over again to quit.

You need to be prepared to struggle to get rid of the habit and you need support to get you through it. Getting the right support will be beneficial and less stressful in the long run. Talk to your doctor and enlist the help of friends and family members to support you in your goal to quit smoking.

Your friends and family can play an important role he supporting you to not give into the temptation to smoke. Talking to someone who has been successful in quitting is also a good idea because they can give you support that someone who hasn’t struggled with quitting can’t give you. You can also employ a professional counsellor or coach that can help you with the process. Some hospitals and universities also offer stop smoking clinics. Your work place may also have a program.
